 | The grape varieties we grow are "Kerner", "Reichensteiner", "Seyval Blanc", which are white grapes, and "Rondo" a red grape. Our current wines are "Wealden Dry", made from the Reichensteiner" and "Barnsgate Gold", made with a blend of grapes, "Barnsgate Bubbly", also made from the Reichensteiner grape and "Rondo".
The "Rondo" is a new grape variety developed in Germany especially to cope with the Northern European climate. Most red grape varieties need the intense sunshine of southern Europe to fully mature.
Although the grapes are grown and harvested here, we no longer produce the wine on site. The harvested grapes are taken to a nearby vineyard where they are crushed and the wine making process set in motion.
We produce approximately 10,000 bottles of wine each year and do not sell our wine through any outlet other than our Restaurants and Gift Shop. We do not have a distribution network and therefore costs are kept to a minimum.
